Our Enrollment Process
Getting started with services can feel like a big step—but we’re here to make it simple and supportive. At The Behavior Lighthouse, we walk with you every step of the way to ensure your child gets the care they need, as smoothly as possible.
Step 1: Initial Contact
Reach out to us via phone, email, or our online form. A team member will connect with you to answer questions and learn more about your child’s needs.
Step 2: Intake & Paperwork
We’ll provide you with intake forms and gather essential information, including your child’s developmental history, insurance details, and areas of concern. This helps us prepare for a meaningful evaluation and treatment plan.
Step 3: Insurance Verification
We’ll contact your insurance provider to confirm ABA therapy benefits and discuss any prior authorization needed. You’ll also receive a financial responsibility form outlining your coverage and any expected costs.
Step 4: Clinical Assessment
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will schedule an in-home assessment to observe your child, speak with caregivers, and determine what services are most appropriate. This includes identifying skill strengths, challenges, and family goals.
Step 5: Treatment Plan Development
Your BCBA will develop an individualized treatment plan based on your child’s assessment. This includes specific goals, recommended hours of therapy, caregiver involvement, service location, and then send this information to insurance for their approval. This usually takes about 2 weeks.
Step 6: Authorization & Scheduling
Once your insurance approves the treatment plan, we’ll match your child with a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and begin scheduling services. We aim to accommodate your family's schedule and routines as best as possible.
Step 7: Services Begin!
Therapy begins in the comfort of your home. Your BCBA will oversee the program, provide parent support, and regularly monitor progress to make sure your child continues to grow and thrive.
